Altivar Process is Schneider's process-industry drive line. ATV600 (ATV630/ATV650) targets pumps, fans and compressors in water, HVAC and utilities, with built-in energy monitoring and pump-specific functions; ATV900 (ATV930/ATV950) adds higher dynamic performance for demanding machine and process duty. Both are supplied here as complete drives and, for ATV660, as compact drive systems.
Size on motor current at the actual duty point, and derate for the ambient temperature in hot plant rooms.
The reference encodes power, supply voltage and enclosure/IP rating — confirm all three, not just kW.
Check the EMC filter class required by the installation and cable length.
Decide early whether the application needs the ATV600 process functions or ATV900 dynamic performance — they are priced very differently.
Frequently asked questions
ATV630 or ATV930 — which do I need?
ATV630 (Altivar Process 600) is built for pumps, fans and compressors with variable-torque loads and process functions like sleep/wake and flow estimation. ATV930 (Altivar Process 900) is for constant-torque, high-dynamic or positioning duty. Most water and HVAC applications only need the ATV630.
What replaced the ATV71 and ATV61?
ATV61 was superseded by the ATV600 range and ATV71 by the ATV900 range. They are not drop-in replacements — footprint, control terminals and parameter structure all changed.
