The Schneider Electric A9R81240 is an Acti9 iID residual current circuit breaker, two poles, 40 A rated current, 30 mA type AC instantaneous sensitivity for 230...240 V AC single-phase circuits. Voltage-independent tripping technology means the A9R81240 operates on earth-leakage current alone, providing additional protection against direct contact and reducing fire risk from insulation faults. It offers a rated conditional short-circuit current of 10 kA, 1500 A rated making and breaking capacity, 500 V AC insulation voltage, 6 kV impulse withstand and 250 A of 8/20 microsecond surge immunity to EN/IEC 61008-1. The device clips onto 35 mm DIN rail, is 36 mm wide over four 9 mm pitches, takes up to 35 mm2 rigid conductors at 3.5 N.m and is rated IP20. 30 mA two-pole RCCBs are mandatory on socket and wet-area circuits in hotels, food and beverage plants, water treatment buildings and facilities across Egypt and the Gulf.
