The Schneider Electric A9R74440 is an Acti9 iID residual current circuit breaker with four poles, 40 A rated current and 300 mA type AC instantaneous earth-leakage sensitivity for 400...415 V AC three-phase distribution. At 300 mA the A9R74440 is used for fire protection and general earth-fault protection at board level rather than personal shock protection, and its voltage-independent tripping works without an auxiliary supply. Published data include a 10 kA rated conditional short-circuit current, Idm and Im of 1500 A, 500 V AC insulation voltage, 6 kV impulse withstand and 250 A 8/20 microsecond surge immunity to EN/IEC 61008-1. It clips onto 35 mm DIN rail, spans 72 mm over eight 9 mm pitches, accepts 1...35 mm2 rigid conductors at 3.5 N.m and is IP20 rated. Typical uses are three-phase sub-boards in water treatment, cement, food and beverage and oil and gas facilities across Egypt and the GCC.
