ABB S200 Miniature Circuit Breakers

The S200 is ABB's modular MCB family and one of the most widely used breakers in industrial distribution boards and control panels. We supply S201 through S204 (1P to 4P) across B, C, K and Z tripping characteristics, plus the S200 MT rail-qualified range and the UC universal-current versions used where DC or mixed supplies are switched.

Frequently asked questions

What is an S200 UC breaker for?

UC stands for universal current — these devices are rated to interrupt DC as well as AC. They are used in solar, battery and DC control circuits, where a standard AC-only MCB may fail to extinguish the arc.

Which curve should I use for a motor circuit?

A K curve tolerates motor inrush better than a C. That said, for a motor branch a dedicated manual motor starter (MS116/MS132) is usually the better device because its thermal element is matched to motor heating.

What does the MT in S200 MT mean?

It designates the rail-qualified range built for rolling stock and similarly demanding environments, with enhanced vibration and temperature performance. For a standard building or plant board, the regular S200 is what you want.
