A failed contactor is often only a failed coil. We supply ABB replacement coils, front and side auxiliary contact blocks, mechanical and electrical interlocks for reversing duty, and RC / varistor surge suppressors that protect PLC outputs and extend coil life — all as individual part numbers, which is usually far cheaper than replacing the complete contactor.
Contactor Coils, Auxiliary Contacts & Accessories we supply
Coils are frame-specific: an AF09 coil will not fit an AF16 body. Confirm the contactor frame before ordering.
Auxiliary blocks mount either on the front or the side, with different contact counts — check which position is free in your panel.
Surge suppressors must match the coil voltage and type (AC or DC) to be effective.
For reversing starters, the mechanical interlock is a separate part and is frame-size specific.
Frequently asked questions
Can I replace just the coil instead of the whole contactor?
In most cases yes, and it is much cheaper.
Do I need a surge suppressor on the coil?
If a PLC or relay output switches the coil directly, yes — the collapsing coil field produces a voltage spike that shortens contact life and can disturb electronics. An RC block or varistor across the coil is inexpensive insurance.
How do I identify an auxiliary block I need to replace?
Send a photo of the contactor with the block fitted, plus the contactor part number.
